ABOUT THE STUDIO

WHO IS

STUDIO KANE?

Studio Kane represents a captivating blend of Korean-American creativity in the realm of independent animation.

Studio Kane stands proud as an independent animation studio committed to redefining industry standards through both integrity and creativity. We consciously break away from the conventional—and often greedy—norms, choosing to instead prioritize the quality of our work over mere profit.

As an independent entity, we cling to the freedom of pursuing projects that not only captivate audiences with their aesthetic excellence, but also resonate deeply with impactful messages that are highly relatable. Our stories are crafted to inspire, engage, and transform the lives of our fans, fostering a deeper connection with themes that matter and, ultimately, challenge our viewers to see the world through a more thoughtful and empathetic lens.

WHAT DO WE STRIVE FOR?

Studio Kane firmly believes the current industry still has unexplored potential conveying profound life lessons in its storytelling, without the need of sacrificing the beauty of 2D animation or indulging in the abusive, irresponsible use of AI to replace cast and crew. Our company takes a bold stance in defense of our employees and independent contractors, standing tall as strong advocates for the fair compensation and treatment of voice actors and animators.

As for the series itself: Each episode offers narratives that not only entertain but also provide rich insights and thoughtful perspectives. All this, while boasting remarkable hand-drawn animation and stunning visuals that will surely leave a lasting impression on its audience.

It is our commitment to create a story that will resonate long after the screen fades to black; with high hopes of sparking an obsession within our future fans as they become familiar with our beloved characters and the lore-intensive world they traverse through.

Our mission has always been to create a story that will linger in the minds of our viewers, and in doing so, we proudly crafted what we title —  OUTLIER

The first sketches of OUTLIER characters were drafted and our conceptualized world began to take shape. The initial rough draft of the Season 1 narrative was written.

Studio Kane officially formed as a company, taking our very first steps toward the ambitious goal of producing our first animated series and comic, despite having limited resources and a small network.

After countless rewrites and trips back to the drawing board, the OUTLIER Season 1 scripts were finalized and the story direction was fully developed for a projected three seasons. Presented to a private audience of over 50+ members with no ties to Studio Kane, the series received resounding positive feedback and was finally green-lit for production.

Seeking a hefty budget to respectfully pay our cast & crew the ample wages they deserve, Studio Kane spent over 7 months at the negotiation table to secure funding from private investors.

...Only for those negotiations to fall through just weeks before our scheduled marketing campaign, halting the release of our debut trailer. In exchange for the promised lucrative budget, Studio Kane was informed that much of its cast and crew—who had built the production from the ground up—faced the high risk of being replaced. Unwilling to compromise the company's morals, integrity, and loyalty to its team, Studio Kane ultimately walked away from the deal, leaving the future of OUTLIER uncertain.

With renewed determination, the Series Creator decided to take matters into her own hands— animating & illustrating over 100+ promotional media + producing 12 books of the comic  (without compensation or assistance)  in a 10-month frame to prepare for a revitalized marketing campaign, set for early Spring 2025.

The goal? To crowdfund the necessary budget so Studio Kane can rightfully honor its promises to the team as we bring this series to life. Sink or swim, Studio Kane chose the path less traveled, unwavering in our commitment to build up the employees who built us... even if it meant accepting that the animated adaptation of OUTLIER might never reach the TV screen.

The scripts for OUTLIER Seasons 2 and 3 were finalized, completing the series narrative years in advance to ensure continuity within this well-crafted, cohesive story.

Studio Kane announced the release date for the OUTLIER manhwa, along with the dates for our upcoming 2025 marketing campaign which will allow the public to familiarize themselves with the studio's ambitious goals.

"50 Days of OUTLIER" marketing campaign begins. Enjoy a massive line-up of promotional media, including animated Trailers and much more.
